Use the figures from your exact washer manual. Divide L/h by 60 to enter L/min. This tool estimates trigger-on consumption, excluding buckets, spills, priming and reserves.
Formula and worked example
Litres per car = flow × trigger-on minutes. Daily demand = litres per car × cars. Whole cars per tank = tank litres ÷ litres per car, rounded down.
Illustrative inputs: 7 L/min, 10 minutes, 4 cars and a 300 L tank. Result: 70 L per car, 280 L daily and 4 whole cars per fill, before reserves.
An 1,800 W generator equals an 1,800 W washer's draw, but does not establish starting capability. No washer-maker recommendation entered means: ask the washer maker. This is not a recommendation for a particular pairing.
Check the water supply too
Tank volume does not prove suction capability. Confirm the washer maker permits tank feed and follow inlet pressure, suction height, hose and filter instructions. For mains power, confirm circuit capacity and electrical protection with competent advice.
